Thinking about tomorrow today is what characterizes our approach to developing new packaging solutions. For us, sustainability refers not only to production and machinery, but also to society and the environment.
By protecting care products, perishable or valuable filling goods, our packaging contributes to greater sustainability. By reducing our environmental impact and fulfilling our social responsibility, we want to set standards in the industry and beyond. We continuously question the status quo in all areas of the company. This is how we ensure our continued existence, drive innovation and shape a future worth living.
We are certified in accordance with ISO 50001 (energy management) and ISO 14001 (environmental management).
The use of water as a valuable resource is subject to continuous optimization. Every year, we set ourselves new ambitious targets to keep water consumption as low as possible.
To reduce water consumption, which is mainly due to washing purposes during the production of our products, LINHARDT has been operating a water treatment unit at the Viechtach site, where most of the water is consumed. The unit is in place since 2019.
In the context of climate change, the manufacturing of low-GHG products is essential for LINHARDT. Continuously reducing the use of conventional primary materials, replacing them with Green Virgin and PCR in aluminum production, and increasing the proportion of PCR in plastic tubes is one of LINHARDT’s ongoing goals with a high GHG reduction potential.
The use of low-GHG energy or renewable energy, the implementation of energy efficiency measures and the electrification of our processes which were previously powered by fossil fuels, represent further measures to reduce LINHARDT’s GHG emissions.
The preservation of biodiversity and ecosystems is of great importance for people and the environment – and an issue that is increasingly becoming the focus of consumers and our customers. The effects associated with the purchase of our goods are particularly relevant in the context of our activities.
In addition to a reduction of wall thicknesses and the efficient use of materials, reducing the need for increased extraction of primary materials such as crude oil, natural gas and aluminum ore for the production of plastics and aluminum, and the increased use of PCR material in particular contributes to the conservation of biodiversity and ecosystems. The high recyclability of our products also contributes to this.
With the efficient use of resources and circular economy, we can avoid negative effects on the environment and people. The recyclability of a product, the use of PCR, resource efficiency at product and company level, and waste management are required by law, but also by our customers, and have a direct impact on the company’s success. Therefore, we are constantly working to optimize ourselves and our products in terms of recyclability and material consumption.
With technical developments we ensure for instance the further reduction of our plastic tubes’ wall thicknesses and thus to increase the share of those products. With this, we actively contribute to increasing resource efficiency.
Ensuring honest business conduct is a basic requirement for our current and future corporate success. In addition to a corporate policy and corporate culture of integrity, this also includes commitment to supplier management as well as information and data security.
Our internal Code of Conduct and the Supplier Code of Conduct (SCoC), the recognition of which is a requirement for business relationships with LINHARDT, provide additional guidelines on business conduct that apply both internally and externally. The SCoC also ensures that social and environmental standards are met in the course of procurement.
Dedicated and constructive interaction and cooperation with our customers is a top priority for us in order to remain successful as a company in the future. Key issues in this context are a high level of service for our customers, but also high product quality, which is the central sustainability goal and the basis for pursuing all other sustainability goals.
Customer satisfaction is therefore a top priority for our company. This pays off: In terms of delivery reliability, quality, customer service, sales support and customer orientation, we are proud of the feedback from our customers and the good cooperation.
Our commitment to the regions in which we operate is very important to us, and is an integral part of our corporate culture. LINHARDT’s sustainable and positive influence on the regions is ensured through projects, fundraising campaigns and voluntary involvement in sport, cultural and social issues.
Our corporate citizenship has a positive effect on the people in the regions, and also on our economic success. Ultimately, this also helps to attract new employees and increase the identification of existing employees with the company. In times of a shortage of skilled workers, this is more important than ever.
We see caring for our own workforce as a basic requirement for our success as a company. In order to ensure the well-being of our own workforce as well as economic success in the future, we attach great importance to qualified employees and internal vocational training at the highest level. Our internal LINHARDT Academy pursues the goal of further developing our employees and qualifying new employees quickly.
Health and safety, equal opportunities, diversity and inclusion as well as mobility, flexibility and a sense of purpose are also core issues that are close to our hearts. We see all of these topics as an opportunity to utilize the associated potential.
